Note: This medal is devoted to the Argentinean Republic, which is represented as a seated female figure with the shield of Argentina at her feet. There are many symbols of industry and progress all about the medal.
It may have been commissioned from Parera to celebrate the exhibition of the Centenary of the Argentinean Republic that was held in 1910, in which Spain had its own pavilion. (Gimeno Pascual considers this medal as a car-racing prize). |
