|Provenance: It entered the Academy following the events of 1835, coming from one of the convents which were abolished, probably from the Capuchins of Barcelona. It passed to the Board of Agriculture,Insdustry and Commerce(no. 18).
Came to the Academy's Museum: 1835 (?).
Note: It might correspond to one of the two paintings of Saint Francis of Assis which were saved from the convent of the Capuchins following the events of 1835 and which, very likely owing to space problems in the Llotja, was carried together with other works to the adjacent building of the institution, the former convent of Sant Sebastià, seat of the Junta d'Agricultura. On loan to the MFMB (inv. no. S-751). Formerly, from February 10th 1921 onwards, it had been on loan to the Escola d'Arts i Oficis i Belles Arts de Barcelona.|
