Pablo Picasso has a sketch - copy of this composition (Barcelona, Museu Picasso, no. 110100), unsigned and undated, but which is commonly dated from around the period in which the painter was a student at the Escola de Llotja (about 1896). In fact, the Academy's files record a request from that time which the artist -who was at that moment very young- submitted to the President asking for permission to copy the works in the Academy's Museum. This document dates from October 5th 1895 and was announced by MORENO 1971.
