Saint Jude Thaddaeus
Anònim, escola napolitana [1a meitat segle XVII]
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 125 x 90 cm
Date: c. 1630 - 1640
Generic classification: Paint
General inventari: 741
Location: Frederic Marés Museum of Montblanc
Notes:
Provenance: Museum of the Board of Commerce Note: It belonged, beyond doubt, to an apostolate, as did numbers 340, 742 and 743. In the Catàleg 1913 it bears the title of A Man Holding a Spear in his Hand. It is precisely because the figure bears a spear (which is Saint Jude Thaddaeus' attribute) that it is wrongly identified as an executioner in the Catàleg del Museu Frederic Marès in Montblanc, the museum where the work is on loan since 1979 bearing inv. no. 10.
