Inscribed: On back of canvas, remains of a label, in ink: “(...)ant. 188/ Núm. Mod. (...)/ Martirio/ de Santa Eulalia’. Provenance: Museum of the former Board of Commerce. In all probability it is the painting on this subject which entered the Academy following the events of 1835, coming from the Convent of Sant Francesc d’Assís in Barcelona. Came to the Academy's Museum: 1835 (?). Note: In the document of 1837 it appears as by the “Escuela de Juncosa". In the Catàleg de 1847 it is ascribed to the school of Guido (Reni). On loan to the MFMB (inv. S-753), until came back to the Academy on September 29, 2009.
