Inscribed: the back, on label of the Academy, with ink: “N.a. 146/ N.M. 110/ Santa Catalina/ por Preciado". Came to the Academy's Museum: 1789 (?). Provenance: Museum of the antic Board of Commerce. Restaurations: restored by CCRBCM of the Generalitat de Catalunya, in 1998. Exhibitions: Pamplona-Vitoria-Bilbao-Madrid, RACBASJ. Exposición antológica de pintura, 2000, no. 16. Note: Pasqual-Pere Moles got in touch with Francisco Preciado's widow in 1789 in order to purchase from her several originals and copies for the Drawing School; this work might be one of these items. In 1787 the Board of Commerce had already contacted Preciado de la Vega in Rome with the aim of getting him to purchase an important collection of drawings for the school in Barcelona. It was engraved in metal by Francesc Fontanals in 1804.
