The Virgin, the Christ Child and Saint John
Juncosa i Domadel, Fra Joaquim (atribuït) [Cornudella, 1631 - Roma, 1707]
Technique: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 48 x 37 cm
Date: s.d.
Generic classification: Paint
General inventari: 159
Location: Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi
Inscribed: On back of canvas, label in ink, with the old and modern numbers; on another label, in ink: "Servita"; in pencil: “5’; and in chalk: “25’. Provenance: Museum of the fomer Junta de Comerç. It came from the Servites convent of Nostra Senyora del Bon Succés. Came to the Academy's Museum: 1814 (?). Note: The Catàleg 1837 records this painting two times and it is credited to Fra Juncosa. However, in the list of the works which were brought in from the convents following the events of 1835 (Biblioteca de Catalunya, Arxiu Junta de Comerç, XCV, 1, 11 and 12), there appears no work from the Servites convent. This leads to suggest this work comes from the confiscation that took place during the Napoleonic period. Without stretcher.
