Note: The portrayed, Manuel Maria Gutierrez Beganige (Cadiz, 1775 - Madrid, 1850), doctor in theology, became the first Professor of Commerce and Economic Policy in the Board of Trade of Malaga in 1817. After a period of adherence to free trade, established in Madrid turned to protectionism in 1828, and later started and a large theoretical and journalistic work in defense of the Catalan cotton industry, the service of the plant committee of the Principle of Catalunya , which came to be on the payroll since 1839. Since many senior Treasury official in Madrid, took an active part in defending the interests of the Catalan cotton. This portrait was inducted into the hall of the President of the Board of Trade of Catalunya. Deposited in the Museum of Art in Barcelona from 1906 (MNAC 10 291).
