There already existed one devoted to the military governors who presided the former Junta de Comerç, and a further one for the directors of the schools which reported to the institution.
Note: The portrayed one, Joaquim Desvalls and of Sarriera (Barcelona, 1803 - Palma, 1883), he was the first president of the Academy, between 1850 and 1877. In the Museum there remains another previous portrait (1856) of the same personage (núm. of inv. 192), it works Miquel Picó i Campamar.
The collection of the Academy preserves ten more pictures of Antoni Caba, portrayer of prestige who realized an abundant production along his life, since his "photographic" portraits were needed by the high middle class and the official circles of his time. In 1874 he obtained the professor's seat of " color and composition " of the School of the Llotja of Barcelona, School that managed to direct between 1887 and 1901. He took part in several National Exhibitions and gained a golden medal in the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona of 1888.|
