Provenance: Work of pensioned, it joined the Museum of the Junta de Comercio. Missing person for many years, the work was recovered on February 15, 2005, when the gallery owner of Madrid Jose de la Mano it came back to the Academy.
Date of ingress: on February 1804 and 15, 2005.
Note: Couple does with the " Copy of the Penitent Magdalene by Mengs (inv. 181).The year 2004, the gallery José de la Mano purchase in Alicante this painting. By documenting the work you realize that the piece was listed in the Catalogue of the Museum (I - Painting) in section allegedly lost works. He contacted Bassegoda Ventura, which in turn reported it to Francesc Fontbona. The original work is part of the royal collections in Spain.|
