Technique: | Plaster | Dimensions: | 7,7 cm diàm. | Generic classification: | Medals and Plates | General inventari: | 4011 E | Location: | Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi | Notes: | Inscriptions: “(small rose) IONANNES (s) FORTIA CONSTANTII (triangle) P (rinceps) (triangle) PISAVR (ensis) ANN(o) (triangle) AET (atis) (triangle) XXXVII (triangle) M (triangle) D (triangle) III”, around the portrait.
It has been impossible to identify this plaster in any of the catalogues of the main European medal collections. Nonetheless, for its stylistical quality it could be attributed to the French goldsmith Guillaume Dupré (1574-1649) who followed the Italian tradition of the fifteenth century, or else to one of his followers. |
